40+mg of hair is necessary for hair follicle test. This is approximately equal to 60 strands of hair that are of length equal to 3.5-4 cm. If enough hair cannot be obtained form head, hair that is collected from different parts (exclusive of pubic areas) of our body can be taken as samples.
On an average it would take 5-10 days from the intake of drug for the affected hair to grow out of the scalp.

dustin, No hair drug tests revel the timestamp and frequency of usage. But the level of toxins present/detected in the test will be more in case of frequent drug users. It will be high even if the drug was consumed in the recent past.

Meursault, If its the case of hair drug testing, I would suggest you to use a detox kit then perform a detoxification and then use the test equipment to know the results before you appear for the test.

Jeff, there is a really good chance you will fail so I would recommend going to a local headshop in your area to purchase some detox shampoo and gel to pass a hair follicle test. I just went today and it was only 40 bucks for the shampoo. It has been about a month and a half since I have smoked weed, but I want to ensure that I get this job because it’s a really good one with a good future. I would encourage anyone else reading this to do the same. Once you pass the test you can start using again. I passed a urine test by purchasing synthetic urine for my last job. There is a reason why people do drugs. Society needs to be restructered instead of penalizing drugs users who usually perform better than most at their jobs. I smoke weed to dumb myself down to the level of the rest of society. That and it relieves the daily stress that I recieve from having to deal with the rest of America.

Jeff, The chances of getting the drug detected via the hair follicle test is maximum in your case. To be straightforward, I am sure that just coloring your hair wont reduce the chances of the drug getting detected. And since you stop the intake just 2 weeks before the hair test, its likely that the drug will easily get detected in the hair test that you are going to undergo.

Before the test cut your hair such that they are only .5 inches long. you can use a combination of hydrogen peroxide and colorox. After applying, let your hair to dry on its own. Dont rinse. Finally, you cna use zydot shampoo on your hair. I have heard that a friend of mine passed her hair test using this procedure. All the best

2 weeks is at times not sufficient to get the cocaine out of your system. Menstrual cycle doe not interfere with detection. Detox kits can really help you pass the test. I would recommend that you can make use of a mix of aleo vera cream + hydrogen peroxide+colorox. Mix them well and apply it on your hair till it gets dried by itself. Don’t rinse till its dry. I just took a hair follicle drug test where they took a sample from my armpit unexpectedly, I had detoxed my head, and had used what little was left on my arms and armpits, however I dont think I used it effectively. I am a regular user almost everyday, I only smoke weed.
They said in the lab that an armpit hair can test back one year, and if so, Does a hair follicle test leave a timeline of usage? like can a positive result show when the last time the person smoked or how often they smoked?

I stopped my casual smoking for two months. I then smoked for about a week. I stopped again around Thanksgiving. I used the ZYDOT when I thought I would be tested in December. I still haven’t smoked, but used ZYDOT Ultra Clean again before todays test. I have been taking Flexeril as prescribed by my doctor, but I didn’t want to admit to that or my Lexapro because I worried that if I stated them and my hair was too clean, it’s give away my detox. No. this is not possible. Passive smoking can only harm your lungs. But he would not test positive in drug tests. Your cortex of the hair will not get the drug until your blood gives the cortex the drug metabolite when it nourishes your hair. So relax.

I have a fair follicle test on monday, feb. 9 2009. i havent smoked since 07 but during september of 08 between the 12 and the 25, (hurricane ike) i was hangin out with friends and they were smoking. we were outside. the only hair they can get is from my arm pit (i think) because i shave my head and my body hair is short. can i fail from this?

hair strand tests are very reliable. However, you can deceive them with the help of the right product. Try applying the mix of colorax, hydrogen peroxide and aleo vera. Allow it to dry. Before test rinse with zydot shampoo. this is purely based on my friend’s personal experience which helped him to pass the test

I am taking clonazepam and I took a drug test. I tested positive for OXAZEPAM and TEMAZEPAM which are not components of this medicine. I also took a tea that had coca leaf on it. A drug attorney can really help you in case of false positives. But before all that, make sure that it is a false positive. Once you do that, claim for that and meet your attorney who would be able to direct you further

Hair drug tests are very relaible and are tough to beat usually. If you had made use of shampoos, you can pass provided the manufacturer is reliable, reputed and famous. Not all shampoos can help you pass the hair test.

I had a drug relapse with meth and haven’t done any for three months. I have not smiked weed for two I have been using Nexxus Aloe Rid as my shampoo for a month or month and a half and I have 2 Sydot Ultra clean to use on the day of the test which will probably be a week or two away. I bleached my hair twice and had it cut a month ago from 15 inches to about 2 in back 5 in front. I know it depends on the type of test some are ordered for a specific look back period… my order was for 6 months….so i gave pubic hair/pits chest as it is cheaper…BUT looks back for 1 year….. hair from your head costs more because they have to take so many inches for the time frame your looking at……. 6 months = 3 inches of hair from your head….
