What is Meth?
Meth is a stimulant of the central nervous system. Meth is a synthetic drug usually taken in the form of pills, powder that can be snorted, smoked, injected or even swallowed. Administration of Meth
Meth can be administered in various forms. Some are explained below:
Smoking: Smoking meth means inhaling the fumes either as smoke or as vapor. It is commonly smoked in glass pipe. It is called as chasing the white dragon in slang terms.
Injections: Injections are usually of 125mg dosage. This is easily soluble in water. In injections, some experience skin rashes. This is commonly called as slamming.
Puffing: This is another popular method of meth intake. Puffing means to make a powder from the crystals and roll up into a small ball. Keep it close to the nostrils. Take a deep breath and it is taken in by the mucous membrane in the nostrils straight into the bloodstream.
Other methods: Sometimes it is used as suppository quite commonly called in the meth world as butt rocket and potato thumping. This is to increase the sexual pleasure.
How long does meth stay in the body?
When meth is administered in the form of smoking or injections, the effect is immediate. When it is insufflated, the effect is delayed by 5 minutes. When it is consumed in the form of pills, the effect is noted only after 20 minutes.
Meth is there in the body for a period of 9 to 15 hours. It is excreted by your kidneys.
Effects of Meth
The effect of meth is different for different persons. Even for the same person it is different with different dosage.
There are various physical effects of meth. They are increase in sweating, in energy levels, in heart rate, in blood pressure, decrease in appetite, sleeplessness, difficulty in urination, disorders in heart , erratic renal functioning and the like.
There are various psychological effects and they are nervousness, irritability, depression, panic, and even thought disorders.
Meth has withdrawal effects. They are craving which means that an individual tends to get addicted to meth.
