What is Oxycontin?
The trade name of oxycontin is oxycodone hydrochloride, normally prescribed by physicians to cure chronic pain is said to be effective for up to 12 hour timeframe.
The liquid content of the opium plant is taken and dried completely to get the powder form of Opium. Then different opium derivatives like morphine, codeine and oxycodine can be separated from the powder with ease. In spite of being a prescription drug, oxycontin lost its popularity due to its usage for non-medical purposes. Currently, in U.S.A, Oxycontin is categorized as a controlled substance by the Drug Enforcement Administration due to the habit forming nature of this prescription drug.
Moving Towards Addiction
Habit forming nature of oxycontin often urges the user to increase the doses. The more you tend to use oxycontin, the more you get addicted to the usage of this drug. The potential of the drug is said to be very high that this drug is said to be very effective in controlling even the most severe pain. When oxycontin enters the body, it induces the receptors in your central nervous system, the brain and spinal cord. When the drug joins with the receptors, it is believed to give physiologic responses like pain relief and euphoric effects. This dangerously addictive drug, induces you and makes you feel high instantly as soon you chew, inhale or inject the drug into your body. Cancer patients take a regular dosage of drugs to get relieved from severe pain. It is advised not to chew, break or crush the oxycontin tablet because of the fact that this might prove to be detrimental to health that the patient might become serious and require hospitalization.
How long does Oxycontin Stay in your System
Different people metabolize the drug at different rates, so the time frame regarding how long oxycontin does stay in your system may vary between individuals. The following factors are responsible for the varied metabolic rate in different individuals:

· Amount consumed by the person
· Number of doses consumed
· Overall health condition

How much is too much to snort? I have an rx for 15mg Oxycodone written for 3xday. I was given 86 pills and they were gone in 7 days. I swallowed and snorted, usually snorted 30mg at a time about every 3 or 4 hours.

there isnt an amount of oxy set for every person but every person will have different effects. some people may be able to handle 300mg daily and the other 30mg. its all in how much you are tolerant to and only you know that..

There is no set rule stating that “You can snort up to a set amount of oxycontin”…. It all depends on your chemical makeup, size, tolerance and of course, how long you’ve been using oxys. As you continue to use, you build up a tolerance and you will find yourself snorting more oxy to get the same feeling. This is why many people begin smoking oxy contin; because when you smoke it, the buzz is more intense and you feel the effects as soon as you inhale the smoke.
I started using oxys about 3 years ago. At that time, I would crush and sniff a 10 mg oxy. Two or three hours later, I did another 1/2 to 3/4…. I loved the way it made it feel: chill, relaxed, layed back and on top of the world. Then, out of nowhere, I felt sick. My whole body broke out in sweat, I went pale and threw up… It was not a negative sick feeling though- I loved the buzz I got- I WISH I could still get that high!
A week later, my friend had some 20mg oxys- We did three within two hours and once again, the night ended with my head in the toilet. LOL…
To make a long story short, I was hooked, mentally, on oxycontin after the first time I tried it! I loved it so much- I loved nodding out, I loved getting so high I would puke and I loved feeling so relaxed; like all the pain in my life just melted away…
Over the next three months, I found myself using every single day. I would wake up in the morning, have a coffee and sniff half a 40mg oxy. 2 or 3 hours, I would finish it off, before leaving the house for work and I was even using while I was at work! Every lunch hour, I would sniff another 1/4 of a 40mg, and a half as soon as I got home. I was buzzed 24/7. Not high to the point that I was nodding out and “stupidly buzzed”, but just to the point that I was buzzed enough to feel more confident w/ myself, more relaxed and more focused at work, which was a bonus, because I am a secretary at a new company so there was a lot riding on my performance. I was the face of the company and it’s success depended greatly on my abliity to work well and provide exceptional information regarding the company.
The day soon came, though, that all my dealers were out of oxys… I quickly became aware that my addiction was not only mental, but I was now physically addicted. I detoxed for 12 hours, during which time I endured many, but not all, of the classic detox symptoms: Muscle aches & pains, cold sweats, diarreha, irritibility, runny nose and fatigue. Luckily, it was the weekend, so I could stay home. I figured that if I was thi sfar gone, I might as well spend the weekend detoxing and by MOnday morning, I would feel better. I swore I would never do oxys two days in a row ever again; that was my way of ensuring I would never endure the agony I was experiencing during my detox.
about 18 hours into my detox though, a friend called w/ oxycodone (a mixture of 5mg oxycontin and 325mg acetomeniphin). I didn’t even think twice before buying 25, swallowing 4 and sniffing 2. 10 minutes later, I realised what I had done and was pretty mad at myself for giving in so easily! I though, How am I going to get off these if I keep buying them as soon as they become available?!
…Within a year, I was up to 2 80′s a day. When I didn’t have oxys, I had every withdrawl symptom “in the book”: nausea, vomitting, muscle aches and pains, twitching, insomnia, fatigue, even hallucinations at times!! My addiction was SO out of control! i was working just to support my habbit and was on a disability pension as well, yet I barely had any food!
It was at the point that I was nolonger using to get high, but rather using to avoid getting sick. Don’t get me wrong, I loved being high, but that was no longer the motivation behind my oxy abuse. When it came to getting high though, I was using more and more to try and get the same feeling as the first few times I had tried oxycontin, but no matter how many oxys I sniffed, I could not get the same high as I did in the beginning. One day I sniffed 1 and 1/2 80mg oxys all at once; Finally, I got so high I was nodding out, falling asleep and I threw up… it sounds weird to someone who;’s never used, to say that I was hoping to get so high I would get sick. To an addict though, you know exactly what I mean.
It was probably 6-9 months after I started using that I began smoking the pills. It was the same high, just more intense. It doesn’t last as long though, so I ended up using twice as much, because I would sniff my regular amount, but smoke half that as well… A month after that, I was injecting. At home, at work, at the coffee shop or at the beach- I didn’t care where I was and who i was with, all I cared about was oxycontin!
I lots four jobs for using drugs at work. Two of my bosses had even confonted me with bloody kleenexes and syringe wrappers in their hands, which had been taken out of the trash- once from the bathroom, and once taken out of the garbage at my desk.
The last job I lost over drugs was when one of our highest powered clients walked in the office to find me behind my desk, overdosed on oxys with a needle in my hand. Surprisingly enough though, he didn’t go to my boss. He called the ambulance, stayed with me and even came for the ride in the ambulance. When I woke up, I felt horrible and absolutely humiliated. We talked though, for about 5 hours that night. He revealed to me that he was an ex-addict who still struggled with recovery. He had apparantly suspected my drug use the whole time, but couldn’t confont me on it, being that our relationship was obivioulsy strictly professional.
I know it sounds extremely irresponsible, careless and even sickening to think that I would shoot up at work, nevermind at my desk, but everyone left the office at 4:00, and I was there alone until 7:00pm. I was the face of the company and I had to be there if someone needed me. Clients rarely came in after 5:30, but I still had to be there, from 4:00 until 7:00, just in case someone did come in. Someone had to be there to answer the phone and as the secretary, that was obviously my responsibility… I couldn’t even run to the washroom, because if I missed a call, it could potentially result in the loss of tens of thousands of dollars for the company.
I knew my addiction was out of control, and I had to do something about it, so about a year and a half after I started using oxys, I went to a doctor and began Methadone treatment.
It was hard at first- the side effects of the methadone were enough to make me want to quit the whole thing and stick to the oxys; Sweating like I’ve never sweat before, I was constipated so bad I was taking metamucill, fiber pills and drinking 3 glasses of prune juice a day, yet only going to the bathroom 3 or 4 times a week… I stuck it through, though, and within a few months, found my ideal dose (85mg of methadone).
Nine months after starting on methadone I finally got clean. I got my life back together, started saving money, buying clothes, makeup, and shoes… Ohhh, how I love shoe shopping!
The way methadone works, is that once you find your ideal dose and stabilize, you slowly taper off it, 2 or 3 mg’s a week. Your dose is decreased so gradually, you don’t notice it, so you don’t feel sick at all. Eventually, you taper down to 1 mg and then 0 and you’re clean of everything!
Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work that way for me… 14 months after I started the Methadone maintenance program, I was down to 15 mg’s, it was New Year’s Eve, and my boyfriend and I decided that since we’re not big drinkers, we would get a few oxys to celebrate the new year. “No big deal,” we though, “One day won’t hurt! it won’t threaten my sobriety!” Boooy was I wrong!!
That one time was all it took! I started using again- first it was just weekends, then every few days… I promised myself I wouldn’t use two days in a row though- I guess i convinced myself that as long as i didn’t use two days in a row, I wouldn’t really jeopardize my success. Two months later, I was using daily again. Not only was I using, but I was using more than ever!!
That was about 4 months ago… Now- I am still on methadone (I’m back up to 50mg’s) and using 3-4 80′s a day! The methadone helps- When I don’t have the oxys, I don’t get sick, sick; the withdrawl symptoms I experience are tollerable; just muscle aches and pains, sweats and irritability…
I will get clean again… With methadone, when you are on 60mg’s or more it actually has a blockating effect on other opiates. You can use all you want, but the methadone blocks it in your mind, so you won’t get any sort of buzz at all… That’s how I got clean last time, so that is my plan again.
So- you asked how much is too much Oxycontin to snort? My answer is ANY Oxycontin is too much.
Everyone knows it’s addictive, but I don’t think people know just how easily you can (and will) become addicted to it! Trust me- if it happened to me, it can, AND WILL, happen to you too!
I am definitely not your “typical junkie”. Before oxys came into my life I was a university student, had an amazing boyfriend, two dogs, a beautiful truck and all the designer clothes, purses, shoes and glasses I could ever wish for. I’ve lost everything due to my addiction. People used to look at me and could not believe I was an addict… Not anymore… Now, i have nothing. Oxycontin literally ruined my life. Before I was introduced to Oxys, I was beautiful.. Now, I am hideous. My arms, hands, feet and neck are full of track marks, my hair lost it’s shiny luster, my eyes lost their sparkle and even my teeth are dingy and stained from smoking pills… I used to love looking at myself- I had so much confidence, nobody could bring me down… Now, wheneve someone looks at me, I feel like they are looking right through me. Boys never whissel at me. I never get asked out on dates. The only time people talk to me now is to tell me how ugly I look. that probably hurts me more than anything else…

In order to get over an oxy addiction you need proper medically supervised detox and extensive mental therapy…
Detoxing from oxys can kill you… literally… Trust me, i’ve been there.. Detoxing for a serious addict is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous, than using is….

I want to know why you would even think of inhaling OxyContin. I am an addict and never once thought of inhaling the drug. My addiction is going on 10 years and just recently started taking them properly. I snorted for many years and all it got me was two big holes in my nose. So just think of what inhaling would do. i have back spazums and i cant take my perscribe oxycontins by mouth because i have problems with my stumach and it hurts terrably im supose to swalow 2 80mg pills a day but i only snort about 40mg a day to controle the pain in about 3mg to 5mg amoumts but i am trying to get off of them all together and have found that if i drink about two leaters of watter during the last 3 or 4 houres berfor bed my detox pain levels and crawly skin as well as vomiting and the outhe are almost like not even there compaired to when i just stop doing them and do nothing at all to help i am wondering if its because my body is metabelizing it faster and im expeling the drug causing me to kind of push it out of my body faster or in larger amounts so that the dt’s isnt so harsh
i also have to do a swab test on monday and am wondering if theres some steps i can take to cleans my body faster so that i dont lose this opertunity because of a perscription

I have been taking 180 mg of oxycontin daily for about two weeks & I snort it. Iam 31years old 5’9″ and weigh 165lbs. How long do u think it will take to be completely out of my system ? Any info from anyone is greatly appreciated

For 15mg taken for 3 days, it would take 12 hours to go out of the system. If this is the case, since you have taken for a few months, please wait for at least 10-15 days surely. Drink loads of water. Urinate frequently. That gets the drug out of your system with ease

My grandmother passed away from Liver Ciroses (however you spell it) During that time she was taking antibodies and other meds prescribed to her. Due to her condition, her liver wasn’t functioning well, and the medicine given would nearly shut her down. Eventually figured out that if she hasn’t pooped in a while it was overloading her liver. Now I’m not a doctor but my guess is if you want clean urine, do the obvious drink plenty of water…and wouldn’t hurt to take some exlax or stool softner to hurry the process up. Just an educated guess though…does make sense though. People with high metabolism poops more frequently.

Cold turkey all of a sudden will lead to unnecessary withdrawal symptoms. So please let the change become gradual. Don’t stop it altogether because the drug is highly addictive

Yes do not quit cold turkey….it is not fun. The withdrawls are 10x worse then the flu. Take it easy and try to come down slowly, you’ll get through it.

admin is right. It takes will power, the want to quit. Come down from this medicine like a doctor would prescribe a steroid. Start weaming yourself from it in a week you can kick the addiction without the flu like symptoms, the jerks while you sleep, restlessness, insomnia, cold sweats. I only advise this procedure if you TRULY want to quit. It worked for me, I started out eating them and my tolerance was very high. It just got to where I couldn’t afford it, and I had other obligations also. So what I started doing was when the craves hit, I’d crush up a 10 and snort, just to get me through the night. And next night a 10….next a 5, next a 5…But I strongly advise not to do this unless you really want to quit. crushing makes it more addicting, keep in mind this is a weaming process.

i know its late to response, but those flu like symptoms last at least a couple weeks, and the mental addiction will last a lifetime unless you get help, trust me i know, i’ve been there
Oxy is different for every person. One year is a long time to be taking this drug. I know….because I have been on 280 mgs. per day for 4 years.
It takes different times for people to come off of Oxycontin or oxycodone (same chemical). Three days is a great start. You have to just refrain from starting back. That’s the difficult part. You are over the hump as for the physical. Now your brain is going to be asking for the chemical. Give yourself about 10 days for the physical and six months for the mental. Maybe not that long.
One really shouldn’t come off of oxy without the care of a physician, but since you have started, don’t stop. Also, “cold turkey” is a bad option. Tapering down is easier, but then again, you have already committed. Just drink a lot of water and push yourself to keep your mind off of it. Exercise if you can. Walk, etc. You have to push thru it. No one else can push for you……..

Thanks for the advice. That was really nice of you to have taken pains to write to us. As you rightly say, coming out of oxy is challenging. However, all the very best and do keep us posted.
I believe my husband is addicted to oxy but he claims he is not. He tested positive on August 8th for oxy and then again on August 16th. He claims he only took one or two pills on the 7th and then no more since then. He claims the test on the 16th showed a postive result because the pills he took on the 7th were still in his system because he is overweight and it clings to the fat cells. He is 6′ 1″ and weighs 270lbs. Is this theory of his true or is he just another addict trying to hide his problem??? He is not prescribed Oxy but finds ways to buy it.
I just need to know if smoing oxy sshow up on a UA as if you had just taken it by mouth?

I am 6/1 175 lbs. and i have about 9-11% body fat. i Smoked 4 10 MG’s on friday and an 80 MG on saterday. I Drank alot of water sunday and monday morning. Had a UA monday at 930 and passed with flying colors. I am not a chronic user but i used to be. This was the first time i had done the drug in at least 2 months.

I am 5 7″ female and applying for a government job. I noticed u asked for immediate response and it seems no one gives one. I am praying you respond to me. I am assuming there will be a test. I have been chewing 60 mg a day for a couple years just to make life and all it demands easier to tackle. It seems like all work and requires so much energy I began taking these and was able to do IT ALL. I was going to take this thing called clear flush but hear tests look for irregulae natural amounts of herbs in your system. I know I have to quit. But when I tried I threw up every 20 minutes for 4 days straight. I could not handle it and had to snort one to stop throwing up because I could not keep anything down. Pleas respond ASAP. I need help. I have to pass this test. I need this job. The stuff never makes me high. It just gives me enough energy to handle all the work my life requires. Will Clear flush work? I also have a prescription for 10 mg tabs of oxycodone form a couple months ago when Ibroke my toe. I was thinking of showing them the bottle since it is the same ingredient and telling them I rehurt my recently brken wrist lifting a hide a bed which is true…so I took a couple of those. i have been crushing up and snorting 80s everyday for the past two weeks.. the last couple of days i dont seem to be getting high from the drug even when i did like three.. i have decided to stop because it is not working for me anymore and it is too expensive. i have been clean 5 days now and have not yet had the earge or need to do them at all, i went threw mild withdrawls(i think its because its my 2nd time this month) with mild tummy pain , hot/cold (half sleep) , i got 4 suboxen from a freind and i have only taken half a pill in two days to control the sweating and i have done it by putting it under my tounge. I am 17 , 6’3 190 – how long will it stay in my system?- i have been taking 1000mg of vitiminC a couple of times a day and drinking lots of milk because my mom told me it helps with detox… – plz help if u have any knowledge that can help me plz

First of all, major congrats on the 5 days off of Oxy…that’s really rad. From reading your post, it sounds like you’ve already gone through the withdrawls, right? So, then, I would take it that your question is whether or not the stuff is going to show up in a drug test, right? Usually, Oxy is out of your system in a week for someone your size. The thing is, though, if you’re taking the suboxen, that will show up in a bunch of the newer, more advanced drug tests. I know it helps with the withdrawals, but seriously, don’t take it if you can help it.
Now for the annoying part. You’re so young, dude…and, judging from your ability to write coherently, pretty smart, too. Don’t put anymore time into this horrific addiction cycle you’re getting yourself in. I mean, I get it — I was a teenage addict, too. Got sober at 16, actually…I’m 25 now and have been 100% clean and sober every since. Have you ever considered the idea that maybe you have a problem? You did mention that this is the 2nd detox you’ve attempted this month…)

Seems like it probably will show up. If it is for a medical issue just use the doctors note, if not, maybe try one of those detox cleaners. I have been taking a lot less than that from my back surgery and I know it shows up during tests. Had a life insurance exam where they tested me and it showed up after a month. It was no big deal because I was under doctors orders.

Have you tried stopping or looking into meetings or help because you cannot do this alone, I can assure you this. I am 36 been on oxycontin (name brand) for almost 3 years. Started off with the liquid now 60mg, snorting about 3-4 times a day. I am 52 and weigh 100. In all honesty, I started researching the web to find out the safest way to inject since I came across some suringes. I have slowed down because Im not getting the “up”/”high” I use to so I was going to try shooting them up. ive been taking pain pills about once a week for 5 years. it is different for everyone. i have never relied on the pills then again i feel like i take them whenever i have the money for them. pills are very expensive and whenever i didnt have the money for them i was fine. it all really depends on how much willpower you have. i might just have alot. because i love pills and i will take them whenever i have money but i do not like to take them everyday because that builds up a tolerence for them and i like to take them. and i do not want to have to take a shitload in order for me to get fucked up.

I have chronic back pain and take 20 mg 3 times a day. I have recently had to switch doctors and the new doctor did a drug test. For about 3 days before the test I only had enough to take one a day (in the morning). The urine test was about 14 hours after the last 20 mg pill and the results came back saying that I don’t have opiates in my system. I read that it can be out of your system in 12 hours. I am 5′ 2″, I weigh 150 pounds, and other than extremely high cholesterol I am healthy. So my question is, how likely is it that my urine test would come back negative for opiates and is there a medical journal of some sort that supports the statement that it can be out of your system in 12 hours.

You would definitely test negative for opiates. There are usually three types of urine tests. A 5 panel, I believe a 9 panel, and a 12 panel. In a 5 and 9 panel the urine is tested for opiates but not for synthetic opioids like oxycontin. Unless your doctor did a 12 panel test, which does detect synthetics, then you would pass. No way would a time release 20mg be out of your system in 12 hours. He or she just didn’t test for it.

Suboxone never worked for me.. I get fucked up off it more than oxy sometimes since I too snort over 160 oxy’s a day and have tolerance to them now. How soon is your drug test? If you stop now, you probably will be clean in 5-7 days. Usually it can be 3-5 days urine but with the dosage u take and the regularity it will take a bit longer. However, if your drug test is sooner than 7 days just drink alot of water- and I mean ALOT!!! Like on the day of test 1-2 gallons and the day before 1 gallon and you will definately pass. Even if it’s 3-4 days from now for you test, just drink the hell out of water and you will be fine. I just passed a drug test last week after having used 3 days prior and I use alot as well but I drank 2 gallons of water the day of and passed. I also had pot in my system from 1 week earlier (1/2 oz smoked) and that didn’t show up either due to the water and dilution of my pee. i wouldn’t waste money on detox kits- just water, water, water until your sick almost from drinking it, and my ass was on the line b/c my drug test was for probation. But yea, you will be fine- just stop using and drink water day before and day of and that’s all there is to it.

My Fiance and I were addicted to oxy contin we never thought it would happen she finally went to rehad we were doing about 180 milligrams each and blew about 70000 dollars in a year ouch yea but depending who you are and how your body works some people have it easier then other when it comes to withdrawals. MY fiance i finally convinced to go to rehab and i promised i would stop with her so my plan was when she left i took only 80 mg for 2 days an oxy ten on the 3rd day and 4th and 5th day i toook 40 mg it really lowered my toxin level without cold turkey killer withdrawal but i also have a super human immune system and metabolic system it was easy for me to stop but not my fiance but your best bet is to do what i do lower the dose then just start taking half of a suboxin if you get prescribed go to a pain doctor tell him your addicted he will give them too you. the mental will go away stay strong keep active and working best way is to think positive think the cup being half full and not empty. There is one simple rule to stopping oxy ITS GONNA SUCK STAY STRONG. Try to stay active keep hydrated. Tell someone for support avoid people who do them at all cost. Bad Company corrupts good habits. I’ve been on oxy for seven years and at one point was injecting 240mg (3 80s) at a time, ten times a day. I’ve done the cold turkey thing three other times and right now I’m on day six of my fourth attempt. It gets better. My worst withdrawl lasted three weeks, but the amount you take I’d say you’ll be fine in about ten days total. If you can muster the strength, go to a clinic and try to get clonidine and zopiclone. Tell the doctor you’re detoxing and some docs will help you. clonidine is not an opiate but helps alot with the pain and crazy arms/legs. Zopiclone will let you sleep. only a week to go. for both of us. good luck.

I guess it would depend on what kind of drug test your given but yes suboxen can show up on some. I no cuz im prescrbed suboxon and sometimes my doctor test to make sure its in my system. Like i said, tho, it prolly depends on what kind of drug test. GOOD LUCK and hope you get the job!!

Just discovered the hard way that my son is addicted to Oxycontin. He has been smoking 2 80 mills a day for the last 4 months. Currently we are trying to detox him at home, but this is proving to be difficult as his addiction has complete control over him. I have called every single rehab program in the book, and online, took him to the family doctor, and the emergency room, but no one will help us for a month or more and when they are finally ready to help, it will cost a fortune. His withdrawals are terrible and he is begging me to buy him some more so he can wean himself off of it. What can I do to help him through this?

How many days has he went without something? If it’s been at least 3 or 4 days, the worst physical part is almost over.
The same thing happened with me and my mother. I couldn’t get into my local suboxone clinic for a week, and she couldn’t stand seeing me so miserable & pill sick. She bought me just enough everyday, to make it through the week. Not enough to get me high or anything, but just so I wouldn’t be sick. I’ve been on suboxone/counseling for 6 months now, and I’ll never be able to thank her enough. Best of luck to you and your son. Hang in there, he’ll make it.

Thank you for your reply. I tried to no avail to find him something to help with his withdrawals, but didn’t come up with anything.This is now day 4 and he is sweating profusely, cramping…you name it… Ouch!
Right now we’re just hanging tough. Trying to make him comfortable, watching tons of movies to help keep his mind off of it, and just being there for him. But good grief! This stuff is terrible! And my heart goes out to anyone who has had the misfortune of underestimating it’s powers.

I am a 23 year old male and rarely do oxy. Over the last two days (Sat and Sun) I have snorted close to 60mg of oxy. I have to take a urine test this Thurs. That leaves me a window or 3 1/2 days to have it out of my system. I have not done oxy in a long time and am the biggest freaking idiot for trying some this weekend. I am 6ft 155lbs. I am skinnier and don’t have alot of body fat. I drink plenty of water everyday and am still nervous as hell for this urine test coming up. I am trying to get a job that will probably require a test. I am 49 and need a retirement fund. I began chewing 60 mg broken up throughout the day to help me tackle the extreme requirements of life. It just seemed like work and more work and I was exhausted. I frequently ran out and it was ok. Just tired. Then 4 months ago a friend who was ill suggested I try snorting. When I ran out I bacame sicker than ever. Throwing up every 20 minutes and nausea unlike anything I knew existed.Now I need this job. I cannot afford rehab. I am a smart person. I gave up pot, drinking and everything YEARS ago. I weigh 180 and am a 5 foot 7 female with I think a slow metabolism. I base this on crash diets over the years. The test is a 2 hour exam tonight. I assume there will be a drug test this week. Do those products at the top of the page work? I hear that testing places look for chemicals in those products in your urine. I do have a prescription written to me from a broken arm for 10 mg oxycodone. Will showing them that bottle put me in the clear.? I know I need to clean up my act but I just want to get this job to support my family and tackle one thing at a time. Please rely ASAP. This is an emergency. I really need this job.
I have been on Oxycontin for quite some time, as I have a terminal disease that cause severe joint pain. I take 40MG three time per day. Lately it has seemed like I need it more frequently…I don’t kno wif it is my pain level increasing or my body needing more because of the the addictive aspects, although I have never felt high from the Oxycontin, it barely takes the pain way.

I had been addicted to Oxy for almost five years and I am glad to say that I kicked the habbit right in the ass about 5 days ago. I was swallowing 80 to 100 mgs a day. I feel better even now than I have in a long time, and it is getting better with each day as I have more and more energy. All others who are addicted, just know that when the withdrawls are completed, life is normal and you WILL NOT have to rely on Oxy. It actually feels good to be able to get up in the morning and not have to take a pill to feel normal and then have to always worry about getting more because you need it. Well you DO NOT need it if you would just hurry up and quit already. I had finally told myself to quit because my life calls for a lot more important things than having to worry about the addiction all the time. I knew that I also had things that I would lose like my closest family if I didn’t quit. This actually drove me to quit because if I lost my family I would just want to die, so I quit. It is not easy to quit but I did it cold turkey and I had the flu symptoms for only 3 days. If you are strong enough and can fight hard, than there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get off this drug coly turkey. The thing I did during detox, even though people would criticize me about doing these things, is I went biking and walking, fishing and camping, and some sports. It actually wasn’t that bad because your mind is off of the drug and to me I just thought that it would help my day go by and I wouldn’t always have to look at the clock to see how far along I am. It helped me A LOT and I just wish that all of you that are addicted could see what I did and actually do it. I understand why some people say dont quit cold turkey but for some people thats the only way its going to get done, Now dont get me wrong its not going to be easy but whats need is whats needed end of story. I was addicted to roxys (30 mg oxicodone) for about 2 and a half years taking about 1 every hour, and everytime i tried to wean myself off slowly it just led back to me keepin on doing it. Eventually i got rid of all the negetive people aroundme and influences and did it cold turkey. It was the worst month of my life, but may have just been the most important as well! It would depend on how long you had been using for, but I would say about 4 days to a week to get out of your system. If you had a hair test done, they say that hair testing for drugs tests for a period of 90 days. I am not sure if it matters how long they had been used for or what, but if I were you I would do a bunch of research. Good luck.
No shampoo can be used to pass a hair test they say. It is cheat-proof is what they say on the internet. It also says that they can find out almost exactly how long you had been using for, whether it is low (recreational), medium (daily/weekends) or a high (constant).

I use oxycodone 30 milligram everyday. If i don’t have one in the morning, I WILL find my fix. and now it’s just not getting sick. It takes atleast 90 Milligrams to get me high, but about 120-150 to get the nod-out feeling i desire. I am 17 years old, I have tried suboxone for 9 days, but after thought it would be ok to do 1 pill once in a while, NO. everytime I hear the word, my stomache churns, I get hurrocious chills, and get skitsefrentic. I NEED these pills just to do everyday things. Without them I will lay in bed all day, I will steal from friends or family to get money to get them. I have been using for almost 2 years, and all my friends do too. I deleted all their numbers but still get calls about them. When I withdrawl, I cannot eat, Severe diareha, feel like I am worthles along with life, Severe chills, and heat or cold vibrations through my arms, My legs are resltess, I get shakes and shivers, and have the constant feeling to clatter and clench my jaw. Great article. Given the 2006 ONDCP mandate to reduce prescription drug ‘abuse’ by 15% by 2008, I would say we, as a s asociety, have failed. Indeed, poisonings are one horrible consequence, but there are so many others — addiction, trauma, DUI, loss of productivity, medical and social costs — yet we as a society spend much of our resources on the lesser used substances of use — cocaine, heroin, meth.
My wife is addicted to OC’s and just found out she is pregnet. what can she do to get clean?

My Gf got two oxy from her father and we took em like a Week ago, Im not sure but i might take a blood test Coming up in Aug. Im Worried it My Show up. We Had 2 of em and we Split em and Snorted it, I never really do it, How long does it stay in my Blood?

I am 27/8 years old and injured my back at work. I have been getting perks and sometimes oxy 40 off the blackmarket to help with my pain. I’m going to see a real doctor, not one at a walkin clinic, later next week to get something to help with my relentless pain. I dont know what I’m going to be prescribed or what to ask for. its been about 2 weeks since I had any meds.
I’m a little worried about the addiction part because when I take a perk i dont feel pain for about an hour, when I take an oxy40 i go for about 6 hours without pain. i dont really get high, i think its because I’m normally hurting so much. I never take any more than one oxy a day or 2 perks, they hurt my stomach.
I just finished reading AllyKat’s story. Scared the hell out of me and i was nearly in tears at the end. I was reading to my girl and had to pause a few times so I wouldn’t loose it.
I never experienced withdrawal symptoms, that I’m glad for.
I guess I’m posting because I really need something for my pain and stress because of it. I cant do anything because it agravates my condition, and I break down and cry when I’m alone from the stress of that and pain. I have a beautiful car with a body kit half done, I’m unable to finish it and because of that it looks like garbage…
I don’t know what to ask for or how to ask for it, and I’m afraid of addiction as I lost a friend to to opiate addiction many years back.
Is there a way to safely take opiates? Or is it even advisable?

Hi there. I too was injured badly after a near fatal car accident that wasn’t my fault I must add. I was in the hospital for a week and they had me on all kinds of strong pain meds. When I was sent home they gave me vics. They weren’t strong enough. Two weeks later I went to my family doctor and asked her for something stronger. She gave me oxy 20s. Those did the trick the first month, until I started noticing how bad my back was really hurting. I went back to her and she had me get an mri. It showed I have 5 herniated discs, and 7 buldging discs. She realized that I wasn’t lying about my pain and referred me to a pain management doctor. He put me on 40mg oxy 2x per day and 4 15mg ir’s per day. once again it really helped with the pain. After a few months it wasn’t enough. I talked to him about it and he refused to give me more. He said that until I had surgery the pain would get worse and he wouldn’t give me anything stronger until I had it. Thats when I took things into my own hands and started buying oxy 80′s off the street. I was taking 2 of those a day on top of what he was giving me. Those pills consumed my life. All I did was worry about how I was going to get more. Then the day came where I couldn’t find any. So I ended up taking 5 times more than I was perscribed, which of course made me run out really fast. Once I was out I started getting real sick. It was like the flu times 10, plus I had the pain from my back. I didn’t know what to do, so I went on the internet and looked up detoxing from oxycontin. I found a site about suboxone. There was a 1-800 number to call and they gave me a number to a suboxone doctor close to me. I got into them the same day. He put me on 2 8mg suboxone per day. Within minutes of taking it I wasn’t sick anymore and the pain started going away. I’ve been on them for 4 months now. They are an opiate blocker, so if I were to take any other pain meds I would not feel any effects from them. Besides, these work so good I have no desire to take anything else. They don’t give you the high feeling but they make life enjoyable again. Suboxone saved my life. After I do have my surgery and heal from that he will reduse my dosage and slowly take me off of them.
Sorry for telling you my entire story, but opiates will consume you. I would say go to your doctor and get the problem fixed. Be honest with your doctor about what you have been taking, and how you are worried about opiate addiction. Maybe even ask them about suboxone. I know that they are starting to use them for pain control as well as treating opiate addiction. Do what your doctor tells you. Get the tests done, and the physical therapy. I promise you will be greatful you did it. Believe me I know what pain is all about and what kind of stress it causes. Life is no fun living with pain.
Once you have your pain under control you will start enjoying life again. You will finish your project car, sleep better, and not be so stressed out. Yesterday was the first time in over a year I took my 95 eclipse to the track. The best part was I was happy and my family was there to enjoy it with me. Plus I ran a 11.3. lol
I TAKE 30-40 ROXY 30S A DAY, WANNA STOP AFTER 8 YRS OF THIS STUFF RUNNING MY LIFE. I JUST GOT A SCRIPT FOR METHADONE 10MG. WILL THIS WORK ON GETTING ME OFF?

yea, it can help u get off it… but meth is no joke, its just as addicting or even more addicting then roxys … i dont recommend the use of it … it ruined many peoples lives and it basically destroys/decays your body horribly … i reccommens using some suboxone for a short period of time … stay away from meth and be prepared mentally, you will still have cravings but you have to say no… the suboxone blocks your receptors taking cravings away, doesnt allow you to get high,and you dont really have the withdrawls … but only take them until your detoxed(out of your system) and then stop the use .. after that your on your own, and you will always be on your own, its never easy .. goodluck …!!!
