Valium, a Boon or a Bane?
Valium – What is it? A perfume, a place of recreation or an element that is similar to chromium – These were some of the answers I got when I put this question to some. Well let me explain what is Valium and then let’s decide whether it is a boon or a bane to mankind.
Valium is a benzodiazepine derivative drug. Yes, it is a drug. Let’s see how does it help? How long does it stay in your system? These are some of the very common questions that are not often answered with clarity. Here is the right article that can explain everything in detail.
Facts on Valium
Benzodiazepine is psychoactive drug from which Valium is prepared. Psychoactive drugs are used to treat diseases like insomnia and hypnotism. They are often used as sedatives to relax or calm the central nervous system. They are anxiolytic, as the name suggests they are used for reducing anxiety. Valium is anticonvulsant and is used in treating epileptic seizures. The drug is used as a muscle relaxant that affects muscle function and decreases the muscle bone.
Physical properties of Valium
Valium is available in the form of white/yellow solid crystals. It does not have any smell and tastes slightly bitter. It is slightly soluble in water, to some extent in alcohol and easily in chloroform. It needs to be protected from light. The drug is stored in air tight containers at room temperatures. It should not be used if it is precipitated.
Benefits of Valium
Valium is used in certain medical procedures like endoscopies i.e. Looking inside the body for medical reasons, to reduce anxiety and tension .Many surgical procedures make use of valium as an ingredient in anesthesia. Sometimes it is also used as stimuli.
How does valium work?
Valium works by enhancing the effect of GABA especially in brain. This causes the GABA to slow down or even stop certain nerve signals in the brain.
How long does valium stay in our system?
Understanding as to how long valium stays in your system is termed as pharmacokinetics of valium. This literally means how long valium stays in our system.
Valium can be taken orally. Intravenous injection is injecting the liquid form directly into vein. Intramuscular injection is injecting valium directly into muscle. Valium can also be taken as a suppository which in turn means insertion of drug either into rectum, vagina or urethra.
When consumed orally it is rapidly absorbed and action is fast. Peak level is achieved within 30 minutes to 2 hrs. The action takes about 1 to 5 minutes when it is administered intravenously and about 15 to 30 minutes if taken via intramuscular injections. Duration of peak effects through both these routes lasts from 15 minutes to 1 hr.

2-3weeks i know from experience at your weight for sure. It has the longest onset of benzos .If you are getting tested stop now. start drinking lots of water . Then on the day of your test make sure to piss as many times as you can and drink water on the way to do it . I have to perform drug test every day at my job I can bring home test and i have tried everything to beat them and drinking lots of water seems to help. PLEASE stopp the Valium far at least 12 days before your test.

Aloha I have been helping my friend clean up and got him into a drug treatment “Methadone” program, I took away his Valium when he started the program 4 weeks ago and in his forth week they did a urine test and he came up dirty for Benzodiazepine from the Valiums He is 56 years old 6’ tall, 225 lbs has Hepatices C “stage 2” and he does not drink alcohol. He does have a problem with the Ammonia levels and brain function that we are getting further testing on those problems at our liver center! Dose this account for the positive for Benzodiazepines a mount after stopping? Are the Hepatices and age “slowed metabolism” keep the Benzo’s in his system over a month? Thank you for all your help here!
