Phases of Urine Drug Test
The different phases of urine drug test are:
1. Physical testing phase: In this phase, the urine sample is examined for the color, specific gravity and general appearance.
2. Chemical testing phase: Here the urine sample is tested for the presence of drugs.
3. Microscopic examination: This is the phase that identifies the cells, mucous and bacteria present in the sample.
Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GCMS) is the most preferred method of urine drug test. False positives of a urine drug test have to be analyzed and retested.. The false positives might arise due to factors like tablets intake and unique food practices.
Home Based Urine Drug Tests
There are several vendors selling home based drug test kits. A dipstick is provided in the kits. This ahs to be inserted in the sample and changes in color are noted. However, such home based tests are prone to errors and false results. Before you buy the kits, understand that they are error prone and are deceptive.
Drug tests generally trigger uproar among people and are often not triggered.
However, Urine drug tests are justified only under the context of pre employment and post accidental cases.

My husband has used crack cocaine atleast one night a week for the last eight weeks ,most of the time heavilly for about 6 to 8 hrs a night how long does he have to wait until his sysyem is clear enough to pass a drug test

I would say that you will ahve to wait for 7-10 days since the quantity taken was heavy. But my suggestion would be he can try a few detox products and test himself at home with the test device that come with the kit before giving the final test.

I havnt done anything for a month and awaiting a reply for a job position. I have used recreational drugs in the past month, the test isnt for 3 weeks so that would be 7 weeks would i be safe to do the test?

what is the type of test that you are going to take? What is your metabolic rate? And what were the recreational drugs taht you took. In my opinion, stay away from drugs for the next few weeks. Can you pass a clean urine test in the period of five days? And during this period taking a seven day detox and drinking 4litres of water a day and eating cabbage soup a whole cabbage?
It depends on what are the drugs for which the screening is done. Most of the drugs tend to leave within the 5 day period with the aid of detoxification. But there are certain drugs that don’t. So it really depends on the name of the drugs for which the screening is done

I was on xanax for appr. 7 yrs and stopped taking them in Sept 2008. I took a 1 milligram xanax Dec. 31 and wanted to know how long it will take before i can pass a drug test?

3 months is too long a timeframe. However, some drugs tend to get detected even after that. But preservation for 3 full months is something very tough and usually not done

If you are an occasional smoke, give a time gap of at least 30 days. Then you would be safe. If you are a frequent drinker/smoker, then there is no guarantee. I took one mg of xanax (alazopram) and about four-five 50 mg tramadol over a two to three day period about 12 days ago. I had to submit urine for a drug test yesterday. From my educational background, I always thought most pills (if not a chronic user) stays in your system for around 3 days or so. The test they are using is a 9 bund which means opiates and benzos will be looked for. Should the results come back negative after 12 days of nothing but good ole sweat and water and just overall good health? I’m tall, thin…….in somewhat good shape. No liver problems or kidney problems……AM I SAFE?
